Kusabi, a charcoal-grill restaurant renovated from a private house barn opens near Takaoka Station by a cook returning from Kyoto

 

A charcoal-grill barn restaurant, Kusabi, has just opened on March 10th, 2022, which is a renovated two-story barn of a private house located about a 5-minute walk south of Takaoka Station (Toyama).

 

Hiroaki Yamamoto, a cook who had practiced in Kyoto, made a return to his birthplace; renovated the barn of his house to offer charcoal-grilled dishes that make use of local ingredients such as fresh meat, fish, and vegetables.

 

During the coming year, he engaged in organic farming at his farm in Kamizeki, Takaoka City, and learned the art of vegetable production to provide them at Kusabi.

 

The renovated two-story barn has tables and long counter seats, and you can enjoy local sake and wine that go well with charcoal-grilled dishes.

 

It only opens for dinner (17:00 to 23:00) for a while after opening, but lunch will start around the coming of April. Holidays are irregular.

When I moved to the Hokuriku region, I realized that every seasonal ingredient achieved my desired taste or more. Charcoal-grilled organic vegetables and seasonal ingredients sound appetizing! As far as I saw the picture inside the restaurant, it looks like an ideal space that delivers a warm dinner. Takei, Web development director
