Construction of a mountain hut begins on Takekurabe-yama Mountain in Maruoka [25-year ago today]

 

Construction of a mountain hut has begun on the southern summit of Takekurabe-yama Mountain in Maruoka Town.

 

Following a fatal accident in a snowy season, construction began due to the efforts of the local mountaineering club and the Fukui Prefecture Mountaineering Federation.

Q. Where is Takekurabe-yama Mountain?

The mountain is in the Takeda area of ​​Maruoka Town (now Sakai City), and both the northern peak (964.3 meters) and southern peak (1,045 meters) line like two ears.

 

The name comes from the form of the mountain because the two peaks look like they are comparing their heights.

 

The mountain hut, which began construction on the southern peak, was completed in September of the same year. Climbers today still love the hut.
