A power outage due to heat at JR Fukui Station. 3,000 passengers were stranded, 100 slept in their cars [25-year ago today]
The power went out at JR Hokuriku Line Fukui Station around 8:10 pm, causing delays of up to 3 hours and 15 minutes for 10 express and 15 local trains.
The 3,000 passengers were stranded. About 100 passengers had no choice but to spend the night in their cars on Raicho 44 and Thunderbird 46.
Q. Why did the power outage occur?
JR West announced that the power outage may have been caused by a sagging part of overhead electric train lines that crosse at the point where the tracks cross.
