An artificial beach opened at Iori Beach in Nanao City [25-year ago today]
A completion ceremony was held to construct an artificial beach of about one hectare at Iori Beach in Nanao City, Ishikawa Prefecture, along National Route 160.
As part of the Iori Beach Environmental Improvement Project, three underwater artificial reefs, toilets, showers, and a staircase revetment were installed in addition to the artificial beach.
Q. Where is Iori Beach?
Located along National Route 160, this leisure beach faces the coast with the Iori Roadside Station on either side of the national route.
It is a pocket beach surrounded by cliffs and reefs along the coast of the Noto Peninsula. Little sand flows in this type of beach; jetties and artificial reefs tend to be put in to prevent sand from flowing out to sea.
