Landslide in Oshimizu Town, Ishikawa Prefecture. A buried worker died [25-year ago today]

 

A landslide occurred at a dam construction site in Oshimizu Town, Ishikawa Prefecture, leaving two of the eight workers injured and one buried.

 

Colleagues and rescue teams rushed to rescue the worker buried under the landslide, but he was confirmed dead.

At the site in Mount Hodatsu in Oshimizu Town, Ishikawa Prefecture (now Hodatsushimizu Town), they restored a landslide that had occurred several years before the accident.

 

On the day, heavy rain fell in the Noto region due to the influence of an active rainy season front, causing damage throughout the prefecture, including the collapse of a national highway in Hakui City and a landslide on a prefectural road in Kanazawa City.
