The curry and beer event will open along Uchikawa River, Shinminato. The event idea came from a Japanese writer coming from Germany

The Great Oktoberfest with Curry will open on Saturday and Sunday, October 5th and 6th, 2024, along the Uchikawa River that flows through the Shinminato district of Imizu City, Toyama Prefecture.

Participants can visit stores (Kobeya Butcher Shop Tatemachi Branch, Cafe Uchikawa Rokkakudo, Uchikawa Sabo Tsuki to Usagi, Kissashitsu River, NEO SOUL, Kuchi Coffee), eat a mini curry for one coin (500 yen) at each store, and get a stamp.

When you collect three stamps, you can play rock-paper-scissors with the store staff and take some gifts home (if you win.)

The event will open from 11:30 to 17:00, and the opening hours will vary depending on the stores. You can know the precise hours through their official SNSs. The participating stores will display yellow banners during the dates.

Oktoberfest is a beer festival held in Germany every autumn, and at The Great Oktoberfest with Curry, each store sells beer with curry.

One of the organizers, Yumiko Tsuboi, is a writer who has lived in Germany for a long time. While living temporarily in Shinminato, she came up with the idea for an event related to her favorite curry and Germany, and with the help of residents around her, the event will open.

(Comments from the editorial office: The seaside, curry, and beer match great. This event is only possible at this time of autumn. The curry is also reasonably priced at 500 yen, so I immediately checked my schedule book. Takei, the web-developing producer

It is an irresistible event for me, who loves curry and beer! I’ll visit the riverside by the Manyo Line and have a drink during the day. Curry events in the Hokuriku region with stores from various prefectures are conventional, but touring local stores sounds original. Takahashi, an editorial staff)
